HOW TO MICRODOSE

PRE-FLIGHT CHECKLIST

Every body is different. When you start microdosing, take the time to listen to what your body does and start slow.
Though everyone metabolizes psilocybin at a different rate, here are a few tips that are shared by many:

  1. Take a microdose once every 2 days
For example: if you take a capsule on Monday, your next capsule will be on Wednesday. Because tolerance to psilocybin builds and dissipates quickly, ingesting psilocybin too often can lead to diminished effects. Experiment with the dosages, but remember to take breaks in between.

  2. Take it in the morning
By taking the microdose in the morning, the effects will last throughout the day without altering your sleep schedule. Pro tip: Start a daily journal to observe the effects throughout the process of microdosing.

  3. Integrate it into your existing routine
The purpose of microdosing is to enhance your day-to-day routine. Don’t change where you go or what you normally do. However, when you try microdosing for the first time, it’s recommended to take the day off just in case you notice any unusual effects.

  4. You can take multiple capsules in a day
Once you’ve got the hang of it and want to increase the effects, you can always take a second capsule to experience what a medium dose would feel like. Just remember to take a break between days to avoid building up a tolerance and to take the day off.

  5. Be mindful of your tolerance
How did you feel on 1 dose vs 2 doses? Was it more effective for you to take a 2 day break or a 3 day break? Listen to your body and figure out a regimen that works for you. It’s best to leverage microdosing as an occasional advantage rather than a go-to like coffee and tea.

WHAT IS MICRODOSING? 🍄

Microdosing is the act of consuming unnoticeable amounts of psilocybin on a semi-daily basis. The point of microdosing isn’t to experience the psychedelic effects. Instead it’s to promote better motivations to encourage a better you. Many people who have tried microdosing have reported reduced signs of anxiety, stress and depression, and increased levels of creativity, energy, and relational skills. Because of the wide range of benefits, research in the positive correlation between psilocybin and mental health is beginning to take off. 🚀

THE SCIENCE 🧠

Though over the past few years research has increased, there’s still so much more to learn about psychedelics and how they work. Most of what we know about how psychedelics work involves serotonin—one of the brain’s most important neurotransmitters. Serotonin affects almost everything that we do, from how you emotionally feel to how your brain processes information.

On a molecular level, psilocybin’s structure is very similar to serotonin. One of psilocybin’s main effects is to stimulate a serotonin receptor called 5-HT2A located in the prefrontal cortex. This leads to two results:

  1. The production of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF): this is a protein that stimulates brain growth, connections, and synapse activity.

  2. Increased transmission of Glutamate: this helps brain functions linked to cognition, learning, and memory.

BENEFITS OF MICRODOSING ❤️

Some common positive outcomes of microdosing include:

  • Increased creativity

  • Boost in energy

  • Heightened focus and productivity

  • Improved relationships due to increased empathy

  • Athletic coordination

  • Reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD

Many people start microdosing for personal development and self-optimization. For example, some microdose to help them in work settings by increasing creativity or to reduce procrastination. Microdosing can also help improve social interaction skills and spiritual awareness.

Dosing microdoses, huh? 💊

If you’ve done some window shopping, you’ve probably noticed that every company has their own dose for their microdose product. Some start their doses at 50mg, others start their microdoses at 200mg. Through our R&D, we decided to start our microdose, Ground Control, at 135mg. We chose 135mg because:

  • For most people, 135mg of psilocybe triggered positive responses

  • By gram, we want to provide value to our customers

  • WIth 20 capsules, it gives you room to stack capsules and experiment with psilocybe dosage

Now, for most people, the 135mg starting point works. For some, it might not be enough. A large factor that comes to play when choosing the right dose is your unique body composition and metabolization rate. Generally speaking, at any given dose, someone who is 120lbs will have a different response than someone who is 220lbs—and that’s the way she goes. Just like with alcohol tolerance or medical anesthesia, typically, those that have smaller frames will require less to feel its effects.

That being said, with the right set and setting, give yourself the opportunity to test your boundaries. We’ve designed our dosages to help you find your sweet spot safely.
